My stay at Rydges Canberra was quite an experience. While the expansive honeymoon suite was clean and the bed incredibly comfortable, I encountered several frustrating issues that detracted from my overall experience. The restaurant offered fantastic food and drinks, but was disappointingly closed on certain nights, and the service often felt overwhelmed and inadequate, especially during busy times.

My stay at Rydges Canberra was quite disappointing overall. While the spacious room and friendly staff were positives, the issues with cleanliness and poor breakfast service significantly detracted from my experience. It felt like the hotel lacked the necessary attention to detail and maintenance, leading to an unwelcoming atmosphere. 😕

I had a solid overnight stay at Rydges Canberra, appreciating the comfortable accommodations and the location. However, the dining experience didn't quite meet my expectations, particularly with the pricey buffet breakfast that seemed a bit bland. Overall, I found the hotel had a nice atmosphere, but there were some hit-or-miss aspects worth noting.

My stay at Rydges Canberra had its ups and downs. While I enjoyed the excellent service from the staff and the spacious room, I encountered issues with cleanliness and maintenance that marred my experience. Thankfully, the location was fantastic, making it easy to explore the city.

Rooms
6.0
I found my room to be spacious and comfortable, though the cleanliness was lacking, especially the dust behind the bed and the bathroom's soap scum. The beds were comfy, which was a plus.
Service

The staff were friendly and professional, and Sonya at Reception really made my stay enjoyable, especially with her quick assistance when we lost a bag. However, my encounters with other staff varied, with some seeming overwhelmed and less helpful.
Location

The location is ideal, close to Manuka and Kingston, which is great for dining and sightseeing. It made my visits to local attractions very easy and convenient.
Dining

I enjoyed breakfast with great value dishes like the egg and bacon roll and the full breakfast served in a pan, but I did notice some quality issues with the food not being as fresh as expected on certain occasions.
Facilities

Facilities were decent, though I found the gym equipment outdated and the pool needed a bit more warmth. The lobby and dining area were lovely and provided a nice ambiance to relax.

My recent stay at Rydges Canberra was a mixed bag. I appreciated the spacious room and convenient location near Manuka shops, but overall, the hotel felt tired and in need of updates. The staff were pleasant, yet the long wait times for check-in and issues like malfunctioning key cards detracted from the experience.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious yet dated. I liked the upgraded embassy suite, but it felt a bit stale. The recently renovated bathroom was a highlight, although the water from the shower went everywhere, making it a hassle to keep the bathroom dry.
Service
5.0
Check-in was painfully slow and often involved long queues. The front desk staff did their best but were clearly overwhelmed. There was little assistance for getting luggage to my room, which was frustrating.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is ideal. It’s close to the vibrant Manuka dining area and governmental buildings, which made it easy for me to get around. I appreciated the pleasant walk to Kingston for dinner.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was quite expensive for what was offered. The selection felt limited and not very appealing. The coffee machine didn’t meet my expectations either, especially with barista coffee carrying an extra charge.
Facilities
5.0
While the indoor pool was nice, it was too cold for my liking, and the hot water fluctuated during showers. The air conditioning also wasn’t functioning properly, leading to a chilly night.
